A Note on Drainage

I have been thinking a lot about water and drainage lately. What has worked for me is keeping my plants in their nursery pots and transporting them to the shower where they are watered, cleaned, and left to drain. ⁠

This method has been working for me since it helps avoid overwatering... but mostly because it prevents overflow onto my floors. But, it also means that the outer planter doesn't need to have a drainage hole. ⁠

That being said, I realize that this method is not for everyone or for every plant. So, we added drainage holes to most of our planters! ⁠
