Is it concrete or cement?

Cement is a binder composed of a chemical combination of calcium, silicon, and other finely ground ingredients. Along with water and aggregate such as stone and sand, is it the basic building block of concrete. So, concrete contains cement, but cement is not concrete. In construction, concrete is used as a sustainable building material because it can be composed of materials with a low carbon footprint and produces a durable structure.

All that to say, our planters are concrete - they do contain various sized aggregates. I am not sure why it was important for me to tell you that. Again, no one really asked this. Whatever. Let’s Shop.

A Note About Variations

The beauty of concrete is that each handmade piece will have its own unique surface pattern. These variations are to be expected so please understand that your made-to-order product will look slightly different from the product photos. Variations can include slight differences in color, pattern (marbling) and texture.

Lead Time

These items are made to order in about 7 business days. Please allow for 5 days in shipping time.

What is your shipping policy?

DOMESTIC

We use USPS to ship our Mini, Small and Medium sized planters within the contiguous USA. Anything larger than that is available for local pickup, We can make arrangements for delivery within the NY - NJ - PA - CT area. Please contact us to make arrangements at MadeintheBasemnt@gmail.com.
